Position: Sports Coordinator FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Position Overview:
Organize, execute, market, and oversee all sports programs for Parks and Recreation.
Job Description:
• Plan, organize, schedule, market, and supervise sports programs
• Communicate with parents, players, teams, and the general public
• Organize and conduct coaches’ meetings
• Create practice and game schedules for each team
• Recruit, schedule, and oversee referees
• Record daily inventory of concession and equipment materials
• Purchase concession and equipment supplies
• Register customers for sports and programs
• Responsible for registration and concession deposits
• Coordinate with other leagues on game schedules
• Compile and submit detailed participation, expense, and revenue reports.
• Work closely with other members of city staff.
• Attend staff meetings, conferences and workshops to increase job related skills
• Has knowledge and familiarity of soccer, basketball, flag football, and cheerleading rules
• Prioritize different projects for each day, week, month, and year.
• Assist the Director with long term planning and goals
• Able to multitask and be autonomous
• Able to work weekends and nights
• Adhere to safe work practices and city handbook
• Perform related duties and responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Parks and Recreation Administration or related field, or a minimum of 5 years related experience
• Effective communicator with public relations skills
• Basic computer skills
• Valid driver’s license
